Threshold’s Sports Performance Training
A fine line separates first place from second place. Too often athletes fall short of their competitive goals because they fail to maximally prepare physically and mentally for their sport. This usually results from not following a precise program designed for their individual needs. Many athletes follow fitness programs designed for the general population or bodybuilding. An athlete’s training regime should be sports specific to the movements, energy systems, injuries, and mental strategies required to maximize athletic performance within their sport.
This program is geared towards athletes looking to get that competitive edge. It is designed to help any athlete bridge the gap between where they are now and where they could ultimately be. We can strengthen weaknesses, maintain strengths, and unveil other facets of being an athlete. Our training methods focus on:
· Power output
· Combining general, specific, and functional strength
· Speed, agility, and quickness
· Acceleration and deceleration
· Core strength and stabilization
· Reaction time
· Balance and coordination
· Energy system specific conditioning
· Behaviors such us team cohesion, mental toughness, and visualization
Our current open classes include Olympic lifting, speed agility and quickness (SAQ), strength training, and circuit training. Each athlete will be educated and trained in each area by a trained professional. These classes are designed to develop a well-rounded athlete in any sport. For those athletes that desire additional sports-specific training, private, group and team sessions are available. The sports-specific training includes customized goal-based programs, pre and post evaluations, and nutritional counseling.
Our staff combines education, science and experience to provide the best training to our athletes. Not only is our staff educated in the field of exercise and science but they are athletes themselves. From marathon runners to world champions, our trainers know what it takes to achieve greatness and go that extra mile.
